2. -ache 詞綴 “痛”
對於headache(頭痛)，toothache(牙痛)，stomachache(胃痛)，backache(背痛)，earache(耳痛)等帶有 -ache 的複合詞來說，headache 是一個規則的可數名詞，可以根據需要連用不定冠詞，而其他的詞則用作可數或不可數名均可(在美語中通常用作可數名詞)，也就是說其前既可連用不定冠詞，也可以省略。如：
I’ve got (a) toothache.
我牙疼。
I get a headache if I watch too much television.
每當看電視太久我就會頭疼。
