Well, first of all, I have to say that I don't particularly go to some places to listen to music, so I racked my brains to think of a place to talk about. Then, a very special place came to mind - the McDonald's near my home haha. I just decided to talk about this place.

This McDonald's is within spitting distance of my home, only three or four hundred meters away. It's where I often go to grab some breakfast coz I'm usually short on time in the morning before going to work. Oh, of course, it's also where I listen to some music, since this is what the topic asks about hahaha.

As for what kind of music is performed there … Um, I guess it's usually R&B and Hip-Hop. Those are the genres. You know, I've noticed that the music that is often played in the McDonald's near my home is always Wilber Pan's music. He's an R&B and Hip-Hop singer and is a household name in China. I've been a huge fan of his since I was 13, when I bought an album of his named My Microphone. The fact that I really like Wilber and his music is always played in this McDonald's is probably part of the reason why I often go there.

I'm not sure if I'm the only person that goes to this McDonald's partly for its music, but I believe most other people who go there just go for the food, fast food of course, perhaps because they're in a rush and don't have much time to cook or go to other restaurants where they have to wait.

Anyway, why people like to listen to music there … um, like I said, I guess it's only me that likes to listen to music there, and my reason is very obvious. They play Wilber's songs and he's my all-time favorite.

Well, I would like to start by saying that I dwell in a beautiful city _X and there are various places which are crowd-puller. Here, I would like to talk about a place where individuals go to listen to music.

It is a restaurant named “vivaan” which is housed in heart of the city. I visit this place frequently with my near and dear ones. Honestly speaking, this place is really famous for its food and music. They play different genres such as unplugged, acoustic especially they soft and soothing music. They invite various artists and music bands on weekends for live music. The most interesting thing is that local community people are also given chances to sing in front of others in order to demonstrate their talent. The restaurant is designed as per modern architecture and is very eye-catching. At night, it becomes a happening place because a lot people visit it for listening to music as well as for enjoying the delicious cuisines.

I feel this place is awesome because of different reasons. first of all, as it is located in the center of the city, so it’s convenient for every person to commute there hassle-free. Apart from that, the sitting arrangement is in apple pie order which can accommodate numbers of individuals. At night, the restaurant shines like a pearl because of the decoration and the lightening.

All in all, it is an idyllic place and honestly, a flying visit to this place truly rejuvenates me.

Well, the place I am going to talk about where people usually go to listen to music is not a theatre or a music hall but a stadium. I think you must be very familiar with the name of this stadium, that is Bird’s Nest which is located in Beijing.

I think most people get to know the name because of the Beijing Olympics Games, but after the Olympic games, it is used as a multifunctional stadium where concerts or competitions are held. Most of the music performed there is pop music. Jackie Chan was the first artist to hold a pop music concert there. After that, many other pop music stars like Leehom Wang, Wang Feng, and the band Mayday all held concerts there. Most of the audiences that go here are young people or middle-aged people. They are loyal fans of these pop stars. Many people even come all the way from other places to attend their concerts.

Speaking of the reasons why people go there, well, in the beginning it appeals to people with the honor that it is the place where World Olympic Games was held. But later, the symbolic function is gradually replaced by its practical function. It is really a precious opportunity to see these pop stars. Especially to many people, those stars’ songs accompanied them through many hard days, so there are emotional reasons behind it. I have also attended a concert of Wang Feng in the Bird’s Nest. I think this is a beautiful place. Its appearance really assembles a bird’s nest, hence the name. The structure is complicated and delicate. Sitting in this stadium and listening to my favorite singer singing is something really special. The bigger size of the Bird’s Nest compared with other stadiums also allows more people to cheer for their idols. The concert held in Bird’s Nest is more like a party for fans.

很多考生都說我在備考時準備了很多話題，可是考場上一緊張就大腦一片空白。實際上大家在備考part2時有一個誤區：背了和背好了不是一個概念，背好和準備好也不是一個概念。

很多學霸考生會把50多個part2話題全部寫下來並且熟練背誦，認爲這就是備考part2最好的方式。實際上這種做法並不很值得提倡。首先，準備並背誦50多個part2話題對於很多備考時間並不充裕的考生是非常大的壓力。

其次，準備好的答案在考場上會有很明顯的背誦痕跡。很多考生習慣於在備考時運用一些陌生的big words來提升自己的詞彙難度，然而這些考生無法應用自如的表達方式在背誦過程中很容易影響你的流利度，而這些詞彙和你本身的英語水平出入較大也會使考官判定你在背誦答案，從而影響你的分數。

Part2該如何準備?

Part2話題一共四大類，人、事、物、地。考生需要先將本季話題庫的話題進行整合分類。

2. 話題點合併

這裏要注意，合併話題時並不是將同一答案應用在兩個話題上，而是將話題中的共通點挑選出來合併準備。我們拿本季題庫中的兩個話題舉個例子。

Describe someone who you think is a good parent. 這個話題卡的第三個展開點是why you think he/she is good?

另一個話題是Describe someone who is knowledgeable. 這個話題卡的第二個展開點是what kind of person he/she is.

這兩個話題點的相似性就非常高，可以合併準備。

3. 寫關鍵詞

上面的兩個話題點可以統一合併爲“你的家長”，比如我的父親就是一個好的家長，因爲他什麼都懂，樂於分享知識，是一個好榜樣。考生要準備的關鍵詞就是know everything, share以及good example.

4. 大量重複練習

以這三個關鍵詞作爲你所展開的核心點來擴展你的句子。注意不要將每一句答案內容寫下來，而是要反覆說出來，在說的過程中不斷雕琢你的用詞以及銜接。還是舉例說明。

以上面的三個關鍵詞作爲核心點，最初你的答案可能爲：

My father is an engineer who knows everything. He tells me so many interesting things that are very helpful in my study. I think he is a very good example because I also want to be like him one day.

經過反覆的練習以及老師爲你進行一些高級詞彙的補充後，你的答案會提高爲：

My father as an engineer is the encyclopedia in my family. As a parent he’s always willing to share so many absorbing things related or not related to my study, which also set a good example for me to follow him or to be like him.

提高後的答案相比第一份答案，使用了更多的less common words並且銜接更爲緊密。大家在備考時可以將自己的答案進行錄音，隨後檢查語法升級詞彙，使你的答案更加自然流暢。

備考時間有限怎麼辦?

1. 準備能串聯最多話題點的素材並且反覆熟練練習。不是背誦，而是做到在自然交流的狀態下能夠對準備的素材應用自如。

2. 準備那些生僻以及自己完全沒有思路的話題。如果考場上遇到這些話題，自己不至於完全答不出任何內容。

3. 習慣於兩分鐘的時長。不要邊說邊看錶，而是將自己的答案長度進行計時，從而掌握怎樣的內容長度最適合兩分鐘的回答時長。我們上一講說過，part2一定要說滿兩分鐘。即使被考官打斷，只要你已經開始回答話題卡上的最後一個展開點，都是沒有問題的。
