Excuse me在英語口語中的用法The use of Excuse Me
(1) 用來向不熟悉的人打聽情況或提出請求(其實質用法是引人注意)，意爲：請問；勞駕；對不起。如：
Excuse me, does this bus go to the railwaystation? 請問這公共汽車去火車站嗎?
Excuse me, sir, will you tell me the way tothe post office?勞駕， 你可以告訴我去郵局的路嗎?
Excuse me, but will you please lend me amatch? 對不起，請借個火好嗎?
(2) 用來客氣地打斷別人的話，意爲：對不起。 如：
Excuse me, what you said was wrong. 對不起，你說錯了。
Excuse me, telegram has just arrived. 對不起，電報剛到。
(3) 用作從別人面前經過時的禮貌用語，意爲：勞駕；對不起。如：
Excuse me, could I get past? 勞駕，讓我過去好嗎?
He pushed his way through the crowd, saying
"Excuse me. " 他一邊說着 "對不起"， 一邊從人羣 中擠過。
(4) 表示中途退席或暫時告退，意爲：對不起。 如：
Excuse me, just a moment. 對不起，請稍候。
Excuse me, I’ll be back in a minute. 對不起，我一會兒就回來。
Excuse me, I must just see who’s calling. 對不起，我得去看看是誰打電話來。
(5) 表示不同意或不贊成(其後常接用 but 錶轉拆 )，意爲：對不起。 如：

Excuse me, but I don’t think the statement istrue. 對不起，我覺得這個說法不合事實。
(6) 表示事先對自己不禮貌的行爲道歉，意爲：對不起。如：
Excuse me for not going to the door with you. 對不起，我不送你到門口了。
If I don’t appear, please excuse me. 我若不到埸，請原諒我。
(7) 表示有禮貌地詢問某事或請求允許，意爲：請問；對不起。 如：
Excuse me, Miss Gao, what’s this in English? 高老師，請問這個用英語怎麼說?
Excuse me, but can I smoke here? 對不起，我可 以在這裏抽菸嗎?
A：Excuse me, what’s the time, please? 請問什 麼時間了?
B：Sorry. I don’t know. 對不起，我不知道。
(8) 用來代替 sorry 表示道歉(主要用於美國英語中)，意爲： 對不起。如：
He said "Excuse me" when he stepped on my foot. 他踩了我的腳時，說了聲 "對不起"。
(9) 表示不耐煩或不願幫忙，意爲：對不起。 如：
Excuse me, I’m busy. 對不起，我正忙着呢。
Excuse me, I don’t know either. 對不起， 我也 不知道。
(10) 用來對有失禮儀的行爲表示抱歉。如：打嗝時說一聲
Oh, excuse me. 打噴嚏時說 Excuse me for sneezing等。
(11) 用於if you’ll excuse me, 意爲：如果你們不見怪(介 意)的話。如：
If you’ll excuse me, I’ll go back to my office. 如果你不見怪的話， 我要加回辦公室 去了。
If you’ll excuse me, I will get some sleep. 如果你介意的話，我想睡一會兒
