Cost an arm and a leg表示"耗資不菲,付出過高代價",這僅僅是一個簡單的比喻而已,用失去人體四肢中的"兩肢"來比喻"付出昂貴代價".
overcharge:to make somebody pay too much for something 多收(某人的)錢 verb ~ (sb) (for sth)
Make sure they don't overcharge you for the drinks. 注意別讓他們多收飲料費.
