核心詞彙

地圖中最常涉及到的當然就是表示東南西北四個方向的詞彙了，對於這個大家肯定都不陌生，分別是：

east / west / north / south

但是還有另外四個方向的表達是大家容易忽略且在考試中比較沒有意識使用的：

northeast / southeast / northwest / southwest

大家需要注意的是這些詞彙和我們漢語中的表達有所不同，英文表達這四個方位時是把南北放在前面，而漢語是把東西放在前面。

關於B地點的位置，可以用四種方法來豐富我們的表達：

1、B is locatednortheastofDartford.

2、Bis situated northeast of Dartford.

3、B lies northeast ofDartford.

4、B is tothe northeastof Dartford.

這裏大家需要注意的是，第四個句型“to the northeast of …”是指位於某地的東北方向而非位於某地內部的東北方向。如果要表示某地內部的某個方向，應當用介詞in。

圖例

大家需要注意的是，這裏的Key可不是鑰匙或答案的意思，而是“索引、圖例”之意。在這裏我們需要關注兩個點：

第一，題目中的圖例一般都是給到大寫形式，我們在考試的時候寫小寫字母即可(專有名詞和地名除外);

town center = center of the town(在這裏有些同學會paraphrase成city center，需要提醒大家的是town和city有很大區別：a town is smaller than a city，在這裏不可作爲同義替換使用)

在這幅簡化地圖中，我們可以說“這條鐵路線從Dartford北部一直穿越到南部”。以下是4種常用句式和詞彙，真實考試中的線路當然不止一條，這時候我們的同義替換詞彙就派上用場啦。

1、The railwayruns throughDartford from north to south.

2、The railway crossesDartford from north to south.

3、The railway passes throughDartford from north to south.

4、The railway goes throughDartford from north to south.

地區人口

關於地區人口的表達，最簡單粗暴的方式就是第一個例句：

1、The population of Dartford is 60,000.

但是我們還可以把B的地理位置和Dartford的人口數放在同一個句子中(這種寫法特別適合地點和位置較多較複雜的題目):

2、B is located northeast of Dartford, whichhas a population of 60,000.
