用英語寫的小故事:商店入口

編者按：《Entrance》是一個用英語寫的小故事，這個故事講述了三家商店之間的競爭，最後講述了三家商店之間競爭的不同方式。

Three competing store owners rented adjoining shops in a mall. Observers waited formayhem to follow.

The retailer on the right put up huge signs saying, "Gigantic Sale!" and "Super Bargains!"

The store on the left raised bigger signs proclaiming,"Prices Slashed!" and "Fantastic Discounts!"

The owner in the middle then prepared a large sign that simply stated, "ENTRANCE".

entrance [ˈentrəns]：入口，進入

adjoining [ə'dʒɔɪnɪŋ]：鄰接的

observe [əb'zɝv]：觀察

mayhem ['mehɛm]：蓄意的破壞

proclaim [prə'klem]：宣告

在一個賣場裏，有三家店是連在一起的，他們之間競爭很厲害，都想搞垮對方。顧客們等在旁邊看好戲。

最右邊那個商家在門口升起一塊大牌子，上面寫着“大減價”和“超划算”。

最左邊的商家搬出了一塊更大的牌子，上面寫着“大甩賣”和“超級大折扣”。

最中間那個店主也拿出了一塊牌子，上面只寫着——“入口”。
