Hello everyone! My name is___, a student from_______college. I am glad togive you a speech about my university. The title of my speech is My college, myhome.

Last September I left my hometown with heavy baggage and after a journey often hours, I came to this dream campus with great expectation andexcitement.

I was deeply attracted by the elegant environment of our campus the momentI stepped into the university. Straight, wide roads enjoyed the shade andshelter provided by lordly, green trees. Ancient buildings of great refinementenjoyed the company of flocks of birds flying and singing overhead. Scrolls ofwarm welcome greeted me and volunteers with smiles came to my help. My heart wasfilled with warmth. Yeah, this is the place where I will spend 4 years and thisplace will be my home!

Whenever I recall the past days, so many thoughts are flooding in my what impressed me most is a night when I got a stomachache during the firstdays. I had to turn to the aunts in charge of our dormitory for help. They wereso friendly and warm-hearted. They gave me the pills and reminded me of havingmore hot water. I recovered soon and I thanked them from the bottom of my heartbecause they brought me the warmth of home.

Our university is a famous academic center. The teaching staff are alllearned professors. Many of them are world-wide known for their wide range ofknowledge and charming personality. I respect my teachers! I admire my teachers!I love my teachers! Various activities are carried here. They not only bring mehappiness but also improve myself. I meet with a lot of classmates and make alarge number of friends. When I feel upset, the will give me a hand; when I amhappy, I will share with them. The library has a large collection of books and Ialways lose myself in it. I believe they will benefit me a lot and are tobroaden the roads of my future.

I love you,____University! You are just a place which gives me warmth andstrengths! You are my home!

Many people yearn to be more self-confident. Yet they have no idea how toachieve that objective. They look at others who have the gift and say, “Heythat’s what I want. I hate feeling unsure of myself. I wish I could stopobsessing about what others think of me and quit worrying about disappointingother people. I want to stop anguishing over my decisions and torturing myselfabout my mistakes. I think it would be so great to feel self-assured, hold myhead up high and stand tall. I’ve never been self-confident. I wish there were away I could be.”

There is a way. You don’t have to be born with -confidence can grow and flourish and ripen and blossom until you actuallycome to feel as though there is a different person inside of you. Here are someinsights that might facilitate the quest.

Learn what a self-confident person is really like. They are not cocky,know-it-all people who don’t care what anybody else thinks. They have theirdoubts. And make mistakes. And are far from perfect. However, they are willingto acknowledge their inadequacies without dwelling on them. They do this bymaintaining a sense of humor, putting problems in perspective, and focusingmainly on what they’ve done right, not wrong.

Though self-confident people do believe in themselves, they don’t try tosuffocate others with their ideas or beliefs. They are confident in what theyknow not only because they read, learn and think but also because they respecttheir instinct, intuition and the unique body of knowledge that they’vedeveloped by living life. They realize that one doesn't have to be labeled an“expert” to believe in one's own truths.

Self-confident people don’t undermine their own worth by comparingthemselves with others, only to conclude that they aren’t “good enough”. Theyappreciate their strengths and accomplishments and can acknowledge, withoutembarrassment, their weaknesses. They don’t live in the “victim” position. Evenif something really bad has occurred, they turn it into a challenge, rememberingto be grateful for the little things in life.

No young man believes he shall ever die. There is a feeling of Eternity inyouth, which makes us amend for be young to be as one of the Immortal Gods. Onehalf of time indeed is flown-the other half remains in store for as with all itscountless treasures; for there is no line drawn, and we see no limit to ourhopes and wishes. We make the coming age our own-

The vast, the unbounded prospect lies before us, including our dreams.

So I'll say:Concentrate upon your dreams and they will become materialactualities. Through concentration we work out our dreams in physical life. Yourfuture depends upon the dreams you are forming now. Your past dreams aredetermining your present. Therefore, if you want a bright future, you must beginto prepare for it today.

We say a man is as changeable as the weather. What is meant is his dreamschange. Every time you change your idea you think differently. You become like arudderless boat on an ocean. Therefore realize the importance of holding to yourdream until it becomes a reality .

Catch the star that holds your destiny, the one that forever twinkleswithin your heart. Take advantage of precious opporyunities while they stillsparkle before you. Always believe that your ultimate goal is attainable as longas you commit yourself to it.

Though barriers may sometimes stand in the way of your dreams, rememberthat your destiny is hiding behind them. Accept the fect that not everyone isgoimg to approve of the choices you've made, have faith in your judgement, catchthe star that twinkles in your heart, and it will lead you to your destiny'spath. Follow that pathway and uncover the sweet sunrises that await you.

Take pride in your accomplishments, as they are stepping stones to yourdreams. Understand that you may make mistakes, but don't let them discourageyou. Value your capabilities and talents for they are what make you trulyunique. The greatest gifts in life are not purchased, but acquired through hardwork and determination. Finding the star that twinkles in your heart for youalone are capable of making your brightest dreams come true.

So don't think that you are neglected, or not understood, or notappreciated. zsuch thoughts are the thoughts of failure.

Don't pity yourself, criticise yourself. You know that the only thing inthe world that you have got to count upon is yourself.
