Fifa was plunged into fresh controversy after the man chosen to probe corruption allegations over the 2022 World Cup bidding process accused football’s governing body of misrepresenting his findings.
負責調查2022年世界盃(World Cup)申辦過程腐敗指控的人指責國際足聯(FIFA)歪曲了他的發現，令這個足球管理機構陷入新的爭議。Fifa announced it was keeping faith with Qatar as host for the 2022 competition after concluding that any improper behaviour in the bidding process for the tournament was “of very limited scope”.

Hans-Joachim Eckert, chairman of the adjudicatory chamber of Fifa’s ethics committee, concluded that there was no reason to reopen the bidding process for the 2018 tournament, awarded to Russia, and the 2022 World Cup.
國際足聯道德委員會裁決小組主席漢斯-約阿希姆•埃克特(Hans-Joachim Eckert)得出結論，沒有理由重啓2018年俄羅斯世界盃以及2022年世界盃的申辦過程。
Mr Eckert’s conclusions stem from an investigation by former US attorney Michael J. Garcia into corruption claims surrounding the vote by Fifa’s executive committee in December 2010 to choose the 2018 and 2022 hosts.
埃克特的結論源於美國前檢察官邁克爾•J•加西亞(Michael J. Garcia)的一份調查報告。加西亞對國際足聯執行委員會在2010年12月選擇2018年和2022年東道主的投票所引發的腐敗指控進行了調查。But publication of a 42-page summary study prompted Mr Garcia, who chairs Fifa’s investigatory chamber, to issue a statement from his New York offices dismissing Mr Eckert’s report.
但最終公佈的42頁的摘要報告，卻促使身爲國際足聯調查小組主席的加西亞從他的紐約辦公室發表聲明，稱其不接受埃克特的報告。He said the summary “contains numerous materially incomplete and erroneous representations of the facts and conclusions detailed in the investigatory chamber’s report”, adding that he would appeal against the findings to the Fifa appeal committee.
