The latest research by the Boston Consulting Group indicates Norway ranks first among 148 economies for well-being.

Five of the top 10 are Nordic economies, and Singapore is the only non-European economy in the top 10.

The US ranks 17, primarily because of its weak showing in income equality, while China ranks 76th because it fell below the global median in four different measures: economic stability, income equality, governance and the environment.
