來自陌生人的幫助意外溫暖

I live in an area that recently got a good amount of snow.
我居住的地方最近下了好幾場大雪。

Here I am, sitting on my couch watching TV when I get a knock on my door.
這天，我正坐在沙發上看着電視，突然聽到一陣敲門聲。

Expecting a package, I look out the window but I don’t see a delivery vehicle.
我以爲是我的包裹到了，就從窗戶看向窗外，卻沒有看到送快遞的郵車。

I’m not dressed to answer the door so I scramble to get dressed and answer the door.
我沒有穿外衣，不太方便去開門，於是我趕緊穿好衣服，打開了門。

Standing outside is a man with a heavy coat, gloves, and a hat and he asks me "Can I help you shovel your driveway?".
門外站着一個男人，他穿着厚厚的外套，戴着手套和帽子。他問我：“我能幫你把車道上的積雪鏟乾淨嗎？”

When he left, I saw him proceed to the surrounding houses and ask my other neighbors if they needed help.
我答應了他。當他鏟完雪離開的時候，我看到他走向附近的人家，詢問周圍的鄰居他們是否需要幫助。

To be clear, it’s still snowing and is still below freezing outside.
我得說一句，當時外面還下着雪，溫度還在零度以下，嚴寒刺骨。

This melted my heart. I’m so glad there are people like this in the world.
這個人的舉動讓我心中涌起一股暖流。世界上還有如此善良的人，爲此我心存感恩。
