自05年開始，世界快餐業巨頭“麥當勞”又給中國引進了一個新名詞“得來速”。麥當勞（中國）有限公司首席執行官施樂生日前表示：麥當勞已將目光鎖定在中國迅速增長的“駕車族”身上。在不遠的將來，麥當勞超過一半的新店將以“得來速”的形式出現。

猜的一點沒錯！“drive-through”指的是“免下車服務的餐廳”。在此，駕車族可以免費停車並享受快餐服務，或者駕駛員不用下車就可在專門的車道上依次享受點餐、取餐和付費服務，此時，“through”指的是“通過”。依此類推，a drive-through banking指的是“免下車服務的銀行”。

此外，進行“汽車快餐服務”的窗口叫drive-up window（“免下車”服務窗口），如：a drive-up window at the bank（銀行的免下車服務窗口）。
