BEC中級考試閱讀較難詞彙分析

我們都知道在英語考試中閱讀部分所佔篇幅較大，分值較高，當然考察的範圍也很廣。在BEC中級考試中也是如此，如果你想拿下這種類型題，就要經常訓練。當然詞彙也是不可忽視的，下面就是BEC中級閱讀中一些比較難的詞彙，我們看一下。

(1)expertise n.專門技術

He has the expertise in the management of hotels.

他有酒店管理知識。

(2)quiz n.智力競賽;小測驗 vt.考查，盤問

The Cambridge team were too much for the Oxford team in the quiz.

在智力競賽中，劍橋隊遠勝牛津隊。

(3)unrivalled adj. 無對手的, 無匹的=unrivaled

The nation’s biggest computer manufacturer, once an engine of growth and an unrivaled success, said the job cuts and plant closings would cost about$6 billion before taxes, a sum that will be reflected in its bottom line by the end of this year.

我國最大的電腦造商，一度曾爲帶動經濟成長的火車和無與倫比的成功企業，說裁員及工廠關閉將耗費60億元——納稅前數字。此一數字將在年終結賬的最後項目中顯現。

(4)exploit vt.剝削, 利用, 開發, 開拓 n.功績, 英勇行爲

People should read the related regulations before they exploit natural resources.

在開發自然資源前，人們應該先了解相關的規定。

(5)revitalising adj. 復活的, 新生的;動詞revitalise的現在分詞形式=revitalizing(美)

Revitalising wheels and tyres is the first thing a garage will do when putting a car on the forecourt.

更換或清洗車輪及輪胎是維修站將汽車停放在展廳前首先要完成的工作。

(6)controversial a.引起爭論的，有爭議的

In deference to our host I decided not to challenge his controversial remarks.

我出於對主人的尊敬，不對他那易引起爭論的話表示異議。

(7)poach vt.(侵入他人地界)偷獵(或捕魚), 水煮, 侵佔, 挖走

A rival firm poached our best computer programmers.

我公司的競爭對手把我們最好的計算機程序編制員挖走了。

(8)devote to 獻給

He devoted himself entirely to music.

他將一生奉獻給了音樂。

(9)premium prn.加付款;贈品 a.高級的;售價高的

We will reimburse you (for) the additional premium.

對溢價我們會給予賠償。

(10)alienate vt.使疏遠，離間;轉讓(財產等)

The Prime Minister’s policy alienated many of her followers.

首相的政策使很多擁護她的人疏遠了她。
