虛擬語氣在一些特殊詞中的使用或含蓄條件句

後的賓語從句。

與現在願望不一致,用主語十過去時,例如:

I wi。hIwere you.

與過去願望不一致,用主語+had+過去分詞,例如:Iwish I had visited the White House whenI was inthe States與將來願望不一致,用主語+would (could)+原形。

's time句型:當lt's tine後用that從句時應該爲主i吾+should+動詞原形或主語十過去時,例如:It,s timethatyou went to school.或It's time that you should go to schooL

3- If only引起的感嘆句相當於“How I wish+賓語從句”。

(l)If only he could come.他要能來就好了。

(2)If only I had known the answer.我要早知道答案就好了。

d rather,asif(though)引導的從句也需使用虛擬語氣,表示過去的情況用過去完成時,表示現在與將來的情況用過去時,例如:

(l)I'd rather you posted the letter right away.

(2)She loves the children as if they were hers.

5.含蓄虛擬條件句含蓄條件句是指句中沒有明顯的虛擬條件句,而是利用其他手段來暗示存在虛擬條件。但是這類隱含式虛擬條件句往往都可以轉化爲if引導的條件句。常用來表示含蓄虛擬條件的手段有:

(1)介詞或介詞短語。如but for,but that,without,in case of, under more favorablecondition等。

(2)連詞。如so that, unless, in case, supposing,lest, provided(倘若……),for fearthat(唯恐),in orderthat, on condition that, if only(要是……就好了)等。

注意:lest, for fear that和incase引起的從句中謂語動詞多用should+動詞原形,但也可以不用虛擬語氣,而用動詞的陳述語氣形式。例如:The foreign teacherspokeslowly in case we misunderstood him這位外籍教師說得很慢以免我們誤解。

(3)通過上下文及內在含義,句中往往有but,otherwise, unfortunately等類似轉折詞。

without, but. but for, otherwise引起的短語或句子常暗含着含蓄條件。例如:

①Without you,1 would never know him

②But for your oooperation, we wouldn't have done it

③But that she was afraid, she would have said no. .

④i would be most glad to help you, butI am busy now.

⑤I would have come to the party yesterday, but ljwas working.

⑥I am busy now, otherwise l would do you the favor!

現在完成時

1、 現在完成時的概念:現在完成時表示動作發生在過去,其結果對現在有影響。 例:Tom has gone out(go的動作發生在過去,對現在有影響)

2、 延續性動詞可以和表示一段時間的時間狀語連用;非延續性動詞則不可以。 例:正確說法:The train has been in thestation for two hours;

錯誤說法:The train has stopped in the station for two hours.

(這輛火車進站停了兩個小時)

延續性動詞 非延期性動詞

定義 動作有持續性,可以持續一段時間。如:live(居住)就可live一年兩年。運作在短時間內結束,不能延續。如marry(結婚)就不能marry一年兩年。

例詞 Listen,play,rain,work Arrive,begin,borrow,finish

3、現在完成時的構成:

(1)have(has)+過去分詞:Tom has gone out。

(2)現在完成時的否定和疑問形式:否定形式在have、has後加not;疑問形式將Have、has提前,如Has Tom gone out。

(3)過去分詞的概念及其變化形式:

概念:它和現在進行時中的“動詞的ing形式”一樣,只是英語中表達時態的一種固定形式。

變化形式:大多數動詞的過去分詞的外形和動詞的過去式完全一樣。只有那些不規則變化的動詞,不運詞的過去式不一樣。具體參照“不規則動詞表”。

英語中過去分詞可作賓補,(此時的過去分詞一般是及物動詞)表被動意義或完成意義,有時兩者兼而有之。做賓補的過去分詞與賓語有邏輯上的動賓關係,即賓語是過去分詞動作的對象。如:

She found the door broken in when she came back.(賓補與賓語有被動的關係,表一種狀態。)

一. 過去分詞用在表狀態的動詞keep,leave等的後面。

Eg:They kept the door locked for a long time.

Keep your mouth shut and your eyes open.(諺語:少說多看)

Don't leave such an important thing undone.

Don't leave the windows broken like this all the time.

二.過分詞用在get,have,make, 的後面。

1.注意“have +賓語+過去分詞”的兩種情況:

A)表"讓某人做某事/讓某事(被人)做"

eg: I have had my bike repaired.

The villagers had many trees planted just then.

B)表"遭遇到某種不幸,受到打擊/受....影響,蒙受..... 損失"

Eg:I had my wallet stolen on a bus last month.

The old man had his leg broken in the accident.

He had his leg broken in the match yesterday.(MET1986)

2."make+賓語+過去分詞",在這種結構中,過去分詞的動詞必須是表示結果含義的。如:

They managed to make themselves understood in very simple English.

I raised my voice to make myself heard.

三、過去分詞用在感觀動詞watch,notice,see,hear,listen to ,feel,find等後面。如

When we got to school,we saw the door locked.

We can hear the windows beaten by the heavy rain drops.

He felt himself cheated.

The managers discussed the plan that they would like to see carried out thenext year.(NMET2000)

四、過去分詞用在want,wish,like ,expect等表示“希望,願望”這一類動詞後面做賓補。如

The boss wouldn't like the problem discussed at the moment.

I would like my house painted white.

I want the suit made to his own measure.

I wish the problem settled.

五、過去分詞用在“with +賓語+賓補”這一結構中,過去分詞與賓語之間是動賓關係。如:

The thief was brought in with his hands tied behind his back.

With many brightly-coloured flowers planted around the building ,his houselooks like a beautiful garden.

With everything well arranged,he left the office.

六、過去分詞、現在分詞、和不定式作賓補的區別。

現在分詞作賓補:賓語和補語之間是主謂關係。其動作與謂語動作同時進行。

過去分詞作賓補:賓語和補語之間是動賓關係。其動作先於謂語動作。

不定式作賓補: 表一個完成的動作、或表一個很短時間內看到、聽到或感覺到的具體動作。

eg:He didn't notice me waiting.

I heard the song sung in English.

I saw him opening the window.

I saw the window opened.

I saw him open the window.

I heard her sing the song in English.

pleasant, pleasing, pleased

(1) pleasant可作定語和表語。修飾事物,不能修飾人。因此句子的主語只能是表示事物的詞語,而不能是人。意思是“令人愉快的,令人高興的”。

I hope you'll have a pleasant holiday.

我希望你能過一個愉快的假期。

(2) pleasing “令人高興的,令人愉快的”,表示寧靜、滿意、令人滿足之意。側重於表示接受對象的情感,傳遞主觀感受。比 pleasant稍弱。主語可爲人或事物。

An actor should have a pleasing personality.

表演者應當具有一種令人愉快的個性。

(3) pleased “高興的,感到滿意的”含義與glad基本相同。作表語時,句子的主語只能是“人”,而不能是表示事物的詞語。be pleasedwith 表示“對……表示滿 意”之意。

She had a pleased look on his face.

她臉上露出了滿意的表情。

burn down, burn up, burn out

bum down 指“燒爲平地,燒燬”;也指“火力減弱”。

The house was burnt down in an hour.

房子一小時被燒爲平地。

bum up 有“燒旺”之意,也可指“消耗掉”。

You'd better put more wood on the fire to make it burn up.

你往火上添着柴,讓它燒旺。

bum out 指“火熄滅”。

The fire had burnt out before I returned.

elect, select, choose

elect 只能用於選舉人,是投票選舉的正式用語。

They elected Nixon President. 他們選尼克松爲總統。

choose 可用於挑選人或物。

It's hard for me to choose one from so many pairs of shoes.

select 意爲精心挑選,多用於物。

She selected a pair of socks to match her suit.

be known for, be known as, be known to

be known for 以……出了名 (通常不是指同位的關係)

be known as 作爲……出了名 (通常加上職業名詞,表同位關係)

be known to爲……所知

Japan is known for its cars.

Luxun is known as a writer.

魯迅作爲作家很出名。

observe, watch

當“觀察”來講時,observe相當於watchcarefully,尤其用於實驗或研究等場合。具體來說,observe含有“察覺到”的意思,watch意爲“盯着看”。

watch還含有“觀看(比賽、電視)”等,而observe沒有此意。另外,watch還有“照料”之意,相當於take careof。還有“當心”之意,相當於be careful with。

She has observed the stars all her life.

她一生都在觀察星星。

I'll watch the baby while you are away.

你不在時,由我照料你女兒

a. 表示時態。例如:

b. 表示語態。例如:

He was sent to England. 他被派往英國。

c. 構成疑問句。例如:

Do you like college life? 你喜歡大學生活嗎?

Did you study English before you came here? 你來這兒之前學過英語嗎?

d. 與否定副詞not合用,構成否定句。例如:

I don′t like him.  我不喜歡他。

e. 加強語氣。例如:

Do come to the party tomorrow evening. 明天晚上一定來參加晚會。

3) 最常用的助動詞有:be, have, do, shall, will, should, would等。

3 助動詞be的用法
