As China is a large country, the climate in China varies, depending on different areas. Some regions have rainy seasons, but some other regions suffer from drought all the year round.

The west eastern part of China has very limited amount of precipitation. Water shortage is quite a serious problem in provinces like Gansu and Ningxia.

The film I’d like to talk about is Solomon’s perjury. It is a Japanese suspense film adapted from a detective fiction. I watched it in a cinema in Tokyo with my friend when I traveled to Japan. The film is about a campus suicide turning out to be a murder. Many students are suspected and interrogated, many teachers get involved and have to resign from office.

From the trailer you may find it very intriguing, but after watching it I could not be more disappointed. The film starts with a tense and suspenseful opening, so I expected a tricky and logical process. With so many characters and clues involved, it turned out to be just a childish prank. In addition, there are two films in this series, which means I wasted five hours in total in the cinema. I have to say this is my least favorite film I’ve ever watched in a cinema.

I often watch documentaries if I have time. For example, documentaries produced by BBC and NHK. I think documentary is a kind of movie that is very informative and inspiring. You can get to know a broad range of knowledge in a relaxed and interesting way. And some documentaries can make you introspect a series of social problems like environmental protection and ecological balance.

It’s hard to say. I guess maybe they don’t really enjoy the type of movies played in the cinema. As old people may not be the target customers of film companies, so there aren’t many films that can attract them. Another possible reason is that the special effects and sound effects in the cinema can be quite noisy for old people, especially if they watch some blockbusters. I think they prefer to watch TV at home or go to some other quieter theaters.

So if I can make a movie like that it would be like the childhood dream comes true.

題目：The plan below shows the changes of a museum between 1998 and 2008.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

解題思路：

本篇爲典型的歷史變遷地圖題。類似地圖題可參考滬江留學對本次考試的小作文預測與範文。

作答此類題目，需要考生篩選出兩個年份同一地點的新增的、消失的、變化的內容，從而進行對比描述。同時需要注意是過去年份過去時態的應用。

參考範文：

The maps clearly indicate the changes of a museum in a decade from 1998 to 2008.

In 1998, the museum was quite plain as can be seen from the picture. The ticket office was just in front of the entrance door. Then going forward, you would see a garden set in the centre of the museum with a cafe bar right behind it. These four areas were located in a line in the middle of the museum, dividing the floor plan into three parts, where the exhibition room was placed on the left while the washroom and cloakroom on the right.

The year 2008 did not see much alterations of the entrance or the ticket office. However, the garden was modified by a fountain and seating for cafe as well, since the coffee bar was moved from the back of the museum to the left of the garden. Besides, the cloakroom was cancelled and the washroom took the original place of the cafe, leaving plenty of room for the right area in the museum where exhibitions were being held.

With the advancement and far-reaching popularity of social networking sites reshaping and overturning how people communicate to a large extent, whether it is a boon or bane has aroused a heated discussion. Personally, online socializing exerts comparatively more positive influences on people if used wisely and appropriately.

It is understandable that people would worry about being disconnected from their local community. One major reason is that the younger generation seems to be overly drawn to their screens and ignore friends around. Therefore, parents are having a predicament to get their kids to go out and socialize instead of being glued to electronics, which appends more anxiety towards social networks. Another reason is that less communication tends to cause indifference towards each other in a community. Advanced and cutting-edge as technology may be, by no means can online socializing replace face-to-face interaction, which is an irreplaceable part of human needs.

Looking at the bright side, however, there are obviously more strengths to emphasize in communicating through cyber space. To start with, people can bond their connections with old friends or remote family members through the Internet without having to bear the limitations of time and geographical barriers. Besides, according to previous surveys, online socializing grants people with the alternative to communicate without being exposed entirely, thus reducing embarrassment caused by face-to-face interaction. In addition to that, some introverted people are inclined to resonate or gain more genuine emotional support from anonymous online group members who share the same interests or suffer from similar issues, where they can somehow relieve their psychological tension and feel free to be themselves.

To conclude, electronics or social networks are not the essence to blame for people getting alienated from their community. It is advocated that people embraced the many advantages online communication has brought about, and avoided any form of abuse of the tools.
