翻譯部分測試學生把漢語所承載的信息用英語表達出來的能力，所佔分值比例爲15%，考試時間30分鐘。翻譯題型爲段落漢譯英。翻譯內容涉及中國的歷史、文化、經濟、社會發展等。四級長度爲140-160個漢字，六級長度爲180-200個漢字。官方評分標準如下：
本題滿分爲15分，成績分爲六個檔次：13-15分、10-12分、7-9分、4-6分、1-3分和0分。各檔次的評分標準見下表：

總的來說，改革後的大學英語四六級翻譯項目採取總體評分爲主，量化考覈爲輔的評分方式：閱卷員首先通讀整篇譯文，根據"總體評分"的原則，確定其所屬檔位；其次詳細閱讀譯文，尋找譯文中的扣分點，在統計扣分點之後，根據"量化考覈"的原則，確定譯文最終的分數。
