equipment是不可數名詞，作“裝備”，“設備”解。不能說equipments或an equipment。
例如：The building is supplied with modern office equipment.
這幢樓配備了現代化的辦公設備。
You will be satisfied with the kitchen equipment here.
你一定會對這裏的廚衛設備感到滿意。
I need three pieces of equipment.
我需要三件設備。
We have lots of factories with modern equipment.

英語語法：clothes 和 clothing 可數嗎clothes 和 clothing 均可表示“衣服”，用作“衣服”的統稱，但在用法上有差別：
hes 是一個沒有單數形式的複數名詞, 其前不可加不定冠詞，也不可加數詞，但可用 some, these, those, many, few 等詞修飾。如：
正：those clothes / few clothes / many clothes
誤：a clothes / two clothes / three clothes
2. clothing 是不可數名詞。如：
They wear very little clothing. 他們衣服穿得很少。
3. 比較而言：clothes 的含義比較具體，而 clothing 的含義則比較抽象。從語體上看，clothing 比 clothes 更正式。比較：
I changed my clothes. 我換了衣服。
He is washing his clothes. 他在洗衣服。
Our clothing protects us against the cold. 我們的衣服可以禦寒。
We are well provided with food and clothing. 我們吃得好，穿得好。
若不考慮其細微區別，兩者常可換用(注：一個是複數，一個不可數)。如：
He spent a lot of money on clothes [clothing]. 他花了許多錢買衣服。
英語語法：homework. housework 可數嗎(1) homework, housework 爲不可數名詞,不可加 s。
例如：我今晚作業很多。
正 I have a lot of homework tonight.
誤 I have a lot of homeworks tonight.
(2) “做作業”動詞用 do,不用 study, make 等詞。
例如:我必須做作業。
正 I must do my homework.
誤 I must make my homework.
常用口語：
稱讚別人在會議、演說等時有備而來,可說 “I can see that you have done your homework.”“我看得出來你做了你的家庭作業 (你是有備而來)”。
