新疆自治區出臺新規 依法推進免費高中教育
Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is enforcing a regulation offering free high school education in four of its ethnic-minority dominated prefectures, warning against any interference with student's right to education.
新疆維吾爾自治區正在實施一項條例，對少數民族聚集的四個州實行免費高中教育，並對任何干預學生受教育權利的行爲進行警告。"No body is allowed to coerce or deceive school-age students out of high school or interfere with their studies to encourage them to drop-out," according to the 32-article regulation endorsed by the regional legislature.
據自治區立法機構批准實施的32條規定指出：“任何人不得強迫或者欺騙適齡學生不上高中，也不得干擾他們的學業來鼓勵他們輟學。”"Individuals or organizations that cause students to leave school early shall be held legally responsible," it added without elaboration.
規定還指出：“任何導致學生提前離校的個人和機構應當負有法律責任。”
The prefectures earmarked to exempt high school tuition fees are largely inhabited by the Uygur, Mongol, Kyrgyz, and Tajik ethnic minorities.
將會免除學生的高中學費的這些地區，主要居住的是維族人、蒙古族人、吉爾吉斯族人以及塔吉克族人。School enrolment in Xinjiang is lower than the national average, said sources with the local government.
