Before long, Alan was openly rude to Womersley in the office, saying 'What do you want?' and turning his back if Womersley dared to intrude upon some discussion.
Conversely, Womersley would show visitors round Cromer House, pointing at the Turing office from afar with exaggerated awe, and saying 'Ah, that's Turing, we mustn't disturb him,' as of some rare zoological exhibit.
