《德雷爾一家》S3E7：性取向是自助餐，不是每日套餐
第一季的時候，我們知道媽媽的前男友斯文是同性戀，而在第三季裏，斯文因爲性取向被逮捕了。
很喜歡Larry說的這句話：
Sexuality is a buffet, not a set menu.
性取向是自助餐，不是每日套餐。
因此一家人都爲斯文打抱不平，爲救他而奔走努力。

1. rumor
這裏可以學到“有傳言說“的表達“there's a rumor that……“，更常用的是rumor has it……：
Rumor has it (that) you're going to be the next managing director. Is it true?
大家都說你將成爲下一任總經理，這是不是真的？
傳播流言的動詞可以用circulate、spread和go round：
Rumous are going round (the school) about Mr Mason and his assistant.
有關梅森先生和他助手的流言蜚語（在學校裏）滿天飛。
[ + that ] She's circulating/spreading rumors that the manager is going to resign.
她到處散播謠言，說經理要辭職了。
2. old bird
old bird是種幽默的表達，形容聰明老練的人。
補充一些bird習語——
①be (strictly) for the birds 愚蠢的；不重要的
②the bird has flown 要找的人跑掉了
③a bird in the hand (is worth two in the bush) 雙鳥在林不如一鳥在手。
④a bird's eye view 俯視，鳥瞰
⑤birds of a feather 一類人；志趣相投者
⑥birds of a feather flock together 物以類聚，人以羣分。
⑦do bird 坐牢
⑧(as) free as a bird 完全自由的
3. het up
het up的意思是焦急的，生氣的，不安的。
形容生氣還有這些形象的詞語：
sullen (adj.) 不高興的
sulk (v.) 生氣
fume (n.) 憤怒；煩惱
irritate (v.) 引起惱怒；引起不愉快
as mad as a wet hen 氣得哇哇叫
choke with rage 氣得說不出話
champ with rage 氣得咬牙切齒
