1. 放在一起使用表示（程度上）更強；更多
eg:He earns a lot more than I do.
他賺的錢比我多多了。

2.還可以表示不止；多於
西城男孩（Westlife）有一首膾炙人口的歌叫做 You raise me up. 其中有一句歌詞就是
“You raise me up...
to more than I can be”
more than I can be： 超越我自己。
此外, more than 還可以和其他詞彙一起構成好用的說法。比如：
more than words can say
字面意思：多於語言能夠表達的
實際意思：溢於言表
有一首老歌叫 I love you more than I can say. 翻譯過來：愛你在心口難開。

注意：跟漢語的語序相反，英語裏是 “不如”在前，“與其”在後

與其說他聰明，倒不如說他勤奮。
• more diligent 不如說是勤奮
• than wise 與其說是聰明
