第一、 地道表達

【地道短語】take its/a toll

【解詞釋義】toll願意爲“通行費”，引申爲“代價，損失，傷亡人數”，例如：the toll of road deaths and injuries（車禍傷亡人數），take its/a toll的意思就是“造成損失和危害”。

【語法用法】表示在......上造成損失或傷害，在短語的後面用介詞on或者是of，即：take its toll on或者是take a toll of。

【典型範例】His hard work will eventually take its toll on his health.

他的辛勞工作，最後對他身體會造成傷害。

The war took a heavy toll of human life.
