新聞熱詞:災後重建 post disaster reconstruction
中國常駐聯合國代表李保東31日說，爲進一步幫助海地人民開展災後重建工作，中國政府決定再向海地政府提供1000萬元人民幣（約合147萬美元）無償援助。美國國務卿希拉里在發言中說，美國將爲海地提供11.5億美元資金，用於幫助海地政府加強農業、能源、衛生、安全和政府管理等方面的建設。

在上面的報道中，post-disaster reconstruction就是“災後重建”。Reconstruction的意思是“重建，改造，復原”。例如：The reconstruction of the Town Hall is scheduled to start next month.（市政廳的重建計劃於下月開始。）又如：postwar reconstruction（戰後重建）。
在海地大地震發生後，許多國家派出了rescue team（救援小組），提供了包括rescue and medical equipment（救災和醫療設備）、emergency personnel（緊急救援人員）在內的humanitarian relief（人道主義援助）。在quake-stricken area（地震災區）搭建了makeshift hospital（臨時醫院）和makeshift shelter（簡易過渡房）幫助受災人民度過難關。
