1.“escort sb.( to some place)”表示“護送/陪同某人(去某地)”,例如:May I escort vou to the ball?(我可以陪你去參加舞會嗎?)但要注意,“護送集人回家”的表達是“escort sb. home”,“home”前沒有“to”,因爲這個結構中的“home”是副詞,不是名詞,例如:Her brother's friend escorted her home.(她哥哥的朋友護送她回了家。)[qh]
2.“staff"表示“全體職員,全體員工”,爲集合名詞,例如:The staff in this shop are very helpful.(這家店裏的員工很熱心服務。)I have a staff of ten.(我手下有十個職員。)另外,如果想表示“一名職工”或“一名員工”,則可以表示爲 “a member of staff”或“one of the staff members” ,倒如: I'd like to welcome a new member of staff. (我想要歡迎一名新員工。)[qh]
送客禮儀[qh]
客人提出告辭時,祕書人員要等客人起身後再站起來相送,切忌沒等客人起身,自己先於客人起立相送,這是很不禮貌的。若客人提出告辭,祕書人員仍端坐辦公桌前,嘴裏說再見,而手中卻還忙着自己的工作,甚至連眼神也沒有轉到客人身上,更是不禮貌的行爲。“出迎三步,身送七步”是迎送賓客最基本的禮儀。因此,每次見面結束時,都要以還將再次見面的心情來恭送對方。[qh]
通常當客人起身告辭時,祕書人員應馬上站起來,主動爲客人取下衣帽,幫他穿上,與客人握手告別,同時選擇最合適的言詞送別,如“Come back anytime.”等禮貌用語。尤其對初次來訪的客人更應熱情、周到、細緻。[qh]
當客人帶有較多或較重的物品時,祕書人員在送客時應幫其代提重物。與客人在門口、電梯口或汽車旁告別時,要與客人握手,目送客人上車或離開,要以恭敬真誠的態度、笑容可掬地送客,不要急於返回,應鞠躬揮手致意,待客人移出視線後,纔可結束告別儀式。[qh]
