英美女癌症病牀上設計婚鞋 痊癒後開公司大綱
When Rebecca Saxon was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the young age of 27, she thought her life was over.
麗貝卡·薩克森在27歲被診斷爲甲狀腺癌時，她以爲她的人生完了。But in her darkest hour, inspiration struck and she found a way of turning her adversity into advantage.

Following her cancer treatment, Rebecca launched a successful business 'Something Blue Bridal Shoes' - a unique range of wedding footwear, which emerged out of the fashion sketches she drew while recovering in her hospital bed.
在癌症治療期間，麗貝卡成功創立了獨一無二的“藍鞋底婚鞋”品牌，專門爲婚禮上的新娘設計鞋子。這些鞋子的初稿都是麗貝卡在醫院病牀上接受治療期間畫出來的。
Rebecca, from London, England, says: 'I started doing sketches of wedding shoes with blue soles when I was halfway through my cancer treatment.
麗貝卡來自英國倫敦，她說：“我是在癌症治療期間開始設計藍色鞋底的婚禮用鞋的。”'I had a hit a real low and was going through that whole "Will I live or die?" situation.
“開始我確實很受打擊，經歷了一段低谷期，不停地在想‘我會活着還是死掉’的問題。”'But I decided that I was going to pick myself up and fight this cancer. The sketches were my release and the way I got through the many hours spent in a hospital room.
“但是後來我決定振作起來，與癌症鬥爭到底。畫這些圖對我來說是一種釋放，同時也幫我在病房內消磨時間。”'I had no idea what was going to happen to me. But I knew I had to be positive if I was going to overcome this treatment. I told myself this was not going to be the end for me. I decided to channel my negative feelings and start drawing.
“我不知道將來會怎樣。但是我知道如果我想完成治療我必須保持樂觀。我告訴自己我的人生還沒有結束。於是我決定疏導負面情緒並開始畫畫。”'I had always loved fashion and when I was younger. Several of my friends were getting married at the time so weddings were very much in the air. So initially, I would be drawing designs for bridal gowns and other garments.
“我從小就對時尚很感興趣。生病期間我有幾個朋友結婚了，那段時間參加了很多婚禮。所以剛開始，我想着畫一些新娘着裝的設計圖。”'But then I started sketching wedding footwear - designing shoes with distinctive, blue soles which were super comfy too. I thought it would be a lovely way of integrating the 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue' tradition.
“但是之後我開始畫婚鞋，設計那種用藍色鞋底製作的、非常舒適的婚鞋。我覺得把西方結婚的習俗‘有舊，有新，有借，有藍’結合在一起會非常有趣。”'Drawing really helped me deal with my treatment.
“畫畫設計確實幫我度過了難熬的治療期。”Rebecca was given the all-clear in August 2011.
麗貝卡在2011年8月脫離了危險期。With the encouragement of her entrepreneur boyfriend, Mike Bandar, she then turned her dreams into her reality and set up 'Something Blue Bridal Shoes'.
在企業家男友麥克的鼓勵下，麗貝卡夢想成真，創立了“藍鞋底婚鞋”。Each gorgeous shoe from the collection has a blue sole, incorporating the age-old tradition of what a bride should wear at her wedding for good luck.
