With more college students doing online shopping, the most time-consuming problem for them is going to the distribution center on campus, sorting out their parcel among heaps of packages and then bringing it back to their dormitory.

Some enterprising students have found a way to avoid this hassle.

Zhang Chao, a student at Neusoft Institute Guangdong in Foshan, offers parcel-pickup and re-delivery service in the nearby university town.

He said the number of orders is on average about 300 per day.

There are now even mobile apps providing platforms for users to run errands.

"We have built collaborations with more than 10 universities, with the overall number of daily orders totaling nearly 1,000," said Sun Wenye, founder of an app named "Xiao Nei Da" (meaning "arrival within campus").

A student said he earns RMB2,000 to RMB3,000 each month by bringing parcels to the doorsteps of their owners.

A report shows the number of parcels received by college students in the Chinese mainland accounts for 6% of all packages in the mainland, which means the express business at university campus can bring at least 70,000 job opportunities.
