經典寓言故事：學弈
Yi Qiu was the best I-go player of the country.
If let him teaches two students, and one listens carefully and is absorbed in ti while the other oneseemingly is also listening, but in his mind, he is thinking about if a swan passes here, how to shoot it down with a bow and arrow. Although he is learning from Yi Qiu just as the other one is, his result will be much worse than that of the other one.
Is it because he is not as clever as other people? Of course not, it is just because he doesn'tdedicate himself to it.
弈秋是國中最出色的圍棋高手。
如果讓他同時教兩個人下棋，其中一個人專心致志，凝神靜聽弈講解棋道，而另一個人雖然貌似在聽講，心裏卻想着要是有隻天鵝飛來，怎樣才能張弓搭箭把它射下來。雖然他和前者一起向弈秋學習，英語小故事但他的成績肯定不如前者。
這是因爲他不如人家聰明嗎?當然不是這樣，只是他不專心罷了。
經典寓言故事：攘雞
Mencius said, "Suppose a person steals a hen from his neighbour each day. And someoneexpostulates(勸誡) him, saying, 'what you do is not decent.' The thief says, 'Then I will steal less, one hen each month. And I will stop doing this next year. Is it all right?' If people already know that what they do is wrong, then they should stop it right away, Why wait until next year."
孟子說：“假如有一個人每天偷鄰居一隻雞，有人勸他說：‘這不是正派人的做法。’偷雞人回答說：‘那麼我就少偷些，每月才偷一隻，等到明年，再一隻也不偷了怎麼樣?’如果人們已經知道自己的所作所爲是不對的，那就應該馬上停止，爲什麼要等到明年呢?”
經典寓言故事：臧穀亡羊
Once Zang and Gu shepherded together and they both lost their sheep.
Zang said he lost his sheep while he was reading. Gu said he was playing chess. Although reading is more elegant than playing chess, they both did something they should not have done. So it makes no difference as far as the fact they lost the sheep is concerned.
臧和谷兩人一起牧羊，兩個人都把羊弄丟了。
臧說丟羊時他在看書，谷說他在下棋，雖然看書比下棋高雅，但他們都幹了不該乾的事情，在丟羊這一點上並無區別。
