By then they had been stuck in the army hostel at the hospital in Rawalpindi for a week with no news about when they might come to Birmingham.
My mother was so desperate that she told my father, 'If there is no news by tomorrow I will go on a hunger strike.'

我很快背出了母親的十一位數字電話號碼，賈維德醫生的表情看起來很驚訝。He knew then that my memory was fine. But my parents were still in darkness about why they weren't flying to me.
他馬上明白，我的記憶力並沒有受損。但我父母仍不清楚爲什麼還不能飛過來看我。Dr Javid was also baffled as to why they weren't coming.
賈維德醫生也很困惑，爲什麼他們還不趕快過來。When they said they didn't know, he made a call and then assured them the problem was not with the army but the civilian government.
當父母告訴他他們也不知道原因時，賈維德醫生打了一通電話，很快確認問題並非出在軍方，而是出在政府。
