英驚現16英尺高巨型雪人 竟與樓齊肩

When Karl Broadbent’s daughters asked him to build a snowman as big as the house, it was always going to be a tall order. But instead of laughing it off he grabbed a set of ladders, a large bucket and rose to the challenge. After all, he could hardly tell them there was too little snow. The heaviest snowfall for 30 years had left his garden under an incredible 24 inches.

2010年的冬天，英遭遇史上最嚴重雪災讓全國交通陷入癱瘓狀態，慶幸的是，雪災帶來的不只有交通癱瘓還帶來了雪人，一個16英尺高的雪人“託雪災的福”應運而生了。當一位父親被女兒要求堆一個和房子一般大小的“大雪人”時，誰也沒想到雪人還真的能堆得這麼高，竟然最後得用上梯子才能給雪人戴上紅色“水桶帽”。據主人說，這場30年來罕見的大暴雪讓Karl Broadbent的後院積雪達到24英尺高。

Six hours later his 16ft creation was finally complete – and yes, it really was as tall as the house. ‘I thought we’d stop at 8ft and I asked if we should put the head on it, but it still wasn’t as big as the house,’ he said yesterday.‘After trying to fob the girls off at 10ft we realised they were not going to let us off. In the end me and a friend got a bit stupid, as dads do, and we ended up with a 16ft snowman.’

據悉，這個堆砌巨型雪人耗時竟然達到6個小時，與樓齊肩。主人Karl Broadbent說：“我們本來堆到8英尺高時想停止，就想就這麼着了，但是，一堆就變得一發不可收拾，最後在16英尺高的時候成功封頂。”

There is, however, one little – well, giant – problem. As the thaw sets in this weekend Mr Snowman – as the girls have christened him – is beginning to melt and is in danger of toppling on to the house.

這個巨型雪人的確給Karl Broadbent一家掙了不少面子，但同時也帶了一個很大的問題---Karl Broadbent一家擔心，隨着氣溫轉暖，這個龐然大物融化後會摧毀他們的溫馨小屋。
