今天，我們先來學習一個用得很廣的名詞: schedule，可以做動詞，意思是排定，安排

The secretary is trying to schedule the month's appointments. 祕書正在設法安排這個月的約會。

I'm scheduling the interview's name list. 我正在安排面試者名單。

同時，schedule用得最多的還是它的名詞：時間表，日程安排表等等：

Have you made the examination schedule? 你已經安排了考試日程嗎？

另外，schedule還有名詞：清單，明細表的意思：

Retailers have several price schedules. 零售商們有幾份價格明細表。

通常，我們在談論schedule 的時候，想表示日程按排得相當緊，怎麼用一個英語形容詞來和schedule 連用呢？tight schedule，排得緊緊的時間表；日程安排很緊。

This tight schedule puts me under great pressure. 這個緊張的日程表給了我很大的壓力。

下面，我們來學習一個動詞短語，put somebody in a bind, 使某人陷入困境，左右爲難：

This schedule has put me in a bind. 這份時間表使我感到左右爲難。

Their refusal to sign the contract has put us in a bind. 他們拒絕在合同上簽字，這使我們處於困境。

When the babysitter cancelled this afternoon, she really put me in a bind. 當保姆今天下午取消約定不來了時，可真是讓我左右爲難。

同時，我們還可以這樣來表達陷入困境，左右爲難的局面：find oneself in a bind:

They found themselves in a bind when their car broke down. 當車壞了後，他們不知該如何解決。

Having accepted two invitations for the same evening, Henry found himself in a bind. 同一個晚上接受了兩個邀請，亨利陷入左右爲難的局面。
