日本將從明年開始對出境者徵稅

Japan's parliament enacted a bill to levy a departure tax of 1,000 yen.

日本國會參議院近日頒佈了一項法案,將向離境者徵收1000日元的“出境稅”。

The new tax is scheduled to kick in on Jan 7, 2019, and applies to both Japanese and foreign travelers leaving the country by plane or ship. The levy will be added to airfares and ship fares specifically.

按計劃這項新稅將於2019年1月7日起正式生效,對搭乘飛機或乘船離開日本的本國和外國遊客均適用,將被特別計入到機票和船票票價中。

Toddlers under the age of two and transit passengers leaving Japan within 24 hours of arrival will be exempted.

兩歲以下的兒童和24小時內離開日本的過境旅客將無需繳納這筆稅費。

Revenue from the tax is estimated to amount to around 43 billion yen per fiscal year.

據估計,在每個財政年,這項稅費收入可達430億日元左右。

There were about 40 million departures from Japan in 2016, including 17 million by Japanese nationals.

2016年,約有4000萬人離開日本,其中包括1700萬日本人。

The government aims to use the extra tax revenue to boost tourism infrastructure and promote travel destinations in rural Japan, as well as fund global tourism campaigns.

日本政府旨在利用這筆額外稅收改善基礎設施,推廣該國鄉村旅遊目的地並資助全球旅遊活動。
