在開帳戶時，銀行會給你一本支票簿，你可以用它在需要時取錢。
When you open the account, the bank will give you a chequebook /checkbook
and you can use this to draw /withdraw money out as you need it.

如果你要在商店裏用支票，你會同時需要一張支票保付卡
If you need to write cheques in shops, you'll also need a cheque card .

二、學習生活

大學課程諮詢與指導（course counselling and guide），論文寫作諮詢與指導（essay writing counselling），課程實驗和實踐（course experiments and practice）是學術語言模塊（academic language）的經典話題，如果考生熟悉海外教育體系（college education system），這些是學術話題中比較容易得分的話題。

被招收enroll（名詞爲enrollment）的新學生剛進校時，先去註冊辦公室registration office去登記註冊register付註冊費registration fee後會拿到一張申請表 application form /registration form，填表fill in the form後，記下一些個人信息take down some details，會有專人爲你存檔 keep on the file。
大學開學典禮opening ceremony後，會舉行情況說明會 orientation meeting，發情況說明手冊orientation pack，安排校園解說遊覽orientation tour（on the campus）

三、旅遊休閒Travelling/Holidays

1、 確定旅遊類型和目的地

如果你想去度假on vacation/on holiday，又喜歡跟團旅行package tour,可以和旅行社travel agency確定旅行tour/journey/travel類型。可以選擇expedition遠途旅行（時間長，路途辛苦）或者excursion 短途旅行

具體的娛樂entertainment/recreation項目比如：
①人文景觀places of historical interest;
② 購物shopping;
③有導遊帶領的旅行 guided tours。

2、附加的遊覽項目的挑選

如果在某些景點scenic spot/resort
如果願意付額外的費用extra fee可以得到附加的遊覽項目比如：
城堡castle
大教堂cathedral（禮拜 church service）；
爬行動物公園reptile park
植物園 botanical park
主題公園theme park
水族館aquarium
瀑布 waterfall等地的觀光sightseeing

3、預定機票

然後提前預定reserve in advance/make a reservation in advance（特別提醒：一般Section1或者Section2中出現的，機票和餐廳位置的預定用book、reserve或者make a reservation，
飛機票有頭等艙first class和經濟艙economy class/tourist class/second class兩種
頭等艙的候車室lounge裏有茶點refreshments提供
付款方式Pay by:現金cash；支票check ；信用卡credit card；支票薄checkbook；銀行轉帳 bank transfer；
(有時需要攜帶旅行支票traveler’s check)

4、旅遊安排

⑴旅遊路線itinerary和公交路線(bus route)也是要事先考慮的，在小冊子brochure上會有時間表timetable/agenda/schedule列表
⑵一般小巴士mini-bus可以容納12-15個人，大巴士coach可以容納45-50個人；確定好出發時間departure time 和回返時間return time
⑶住宿地點可以是：汽車旅館motel
青年旅社youth hostel
旅館hotel
小酒店inn
(大多數旅館會提供早餐和牀B&B=breakfast & bed)

5、攜帶物品

如果有野營go camping的打算，建議攜帶一些生活必需品和應急用品，例如：帳篷tent

睡衣pyjamas
泳衣bathing suit/swimming costume
（提醒：不可以寫成bathing costume或者swimming suit）
太陽眼鏡sunglasses

防曬霜sun cream
返回之前也可以去紀念品商店souvenir shop買些特產回來

四、房屋租賃

首先landlord / landlady房東和tenant租客通過houseagency房產中介（或house agent房產代理人）聯繫，洽談租房事宜。

1、確定住宿形式：

homestay (stay with a family)住在當地人家裏
student hostel (student accommodation )學生公寓----dormitory (=dorm)宿舍

2、住宿類型分爲兩大類：

① flat(英式公寓)=apartment(美式公寓)

一般位於city center=downtown (市中心)

② house房屋

一般位於suburbs = outskirts (郊區)

3、確定rent租金和deposit押金（for security爲了安全）

⑴ location位置

① urban area 市區地段② rural area 鄉村地段

⑵environment/ surroundings環境

①near public transport靠近公共交通

比如靠近tube= subway=underground= metro地鐵
或者bus stop 公交車站 或者airport機場

② near the university/ office 靠近大學或工作地點
proximity（= close常考同義詞轉換）to your office is an issue靠近你的工作地點也是個應該考慮的因素

③ 安靜的環境
neighborhood街區是否noisy喧鬧

④ 各類帳單和設備租賃費用是否包括在租金內
