英語致辭：倫敦市長2017年聖誕致辭
I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
It’s a special time of year.
It’s a time when many Londoners and those around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and when lots of us come together with family, friends and loved ones.
It’s also an opportunity to take stock and reflect on the past year. There’s no doubt our city has endured a difficult year with the terrible fire at Grenville Tower and horrific terrorist attacks.
But amid the pain and heartache, we’ve also found reasons to be hopeful. We’ve seen the bravery of our incredible emergency services, many of whom will be working to keep us safe over Christmas, and heartwarming generosity from ordinary Londoners helping those in their time of most need.
During this Christmas season of hope, let’s take inspiration from these examples of Christian values and thank London’s Christian community for all they do to help those less fortunate than ourselves – the homeless, the hungry, and the sick.
