Donald Trump lambasted the FBI in a series of pre-dawn tweets yesterday, as analysts debated whether another online missive by the president pointed to a potential obstruction of justice.
唐納德?特朗普(Donald Trump)昨日凌晨發出一系列推文抨擊美國聯邦調查局(FBI)，分析人士辯論了美國總統在網上的又一波發泄是否露出妨礙司法的馬腳。Mr Trump said the bureau’s reputation was “in tatters” two days after Michael Flynn, his former national security adviser, pleaded guilty to lying to investigators and confirmed he was co-operating with a special counsel probe into Russia’s involvement in the US election.

“I never asked Comey to stop investigating Flynn. Just more Fake News covering another Comey lie!” Mr Trump tweeted.

A charge sheet from the office of special counsel Robert mueller last week suggested Mr Flynn had acted under the recommendations of more senior members of the transition team when he communicated with Russia’s ambassador to Washington last year.

Shortly afterwards, the president wrote that he had fired Mr Flynn because his national security adviser had lied to the FBI. This prompted legal experts to warn that Mr Trump could open himself up to obstruction of justice charges if he knew Mr Flynn had lied to the FBI before he fired Mr Comey.
