Drinking coffee may decrease the risk of heart and respiratory diseases, as well as stroke and diabetes, and thus, help you live longer, Discovery News reported.

據探索新聞網報道,飲用咖啡或可減少患心臟病、呼吸系統疾病、中風及糖尿病的風險,因此能夠延年益壽。

Research results published on the May 17 issue of New England Journal of Medicine show that death rates over a 13-year period among men and women who drank coffee decreased with a greater number of cups per day, up to six.

該研究成果刊載於5月17日版《新英格蘭醫學期刊》上。這項持續時間達13年的研究表明,人們的死亡率隨着每日咖啡飲用量的加大而降低——不多,最多六杯。

Still, while high coffee consumption was previously thought to have adverse health effects, this study adds to the growing body of recent findings that show higher coffee consumption is not harmful, and in some cases may have health benefits.

此外,早前有說法認爲咖啡攝入過量會對健康產生不良影響,但越來越多的新研究顯示,多喝咖啡不僅無害,而且在某些情況下還有益處。本研究更是應證了這一點。
