Jiuzhaigou, a scenic area on the UNESCO World Natural Heritage list in Sichuan province, partially reopened last Thursday after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake in august.
Wu Fuwei, a 58-year-old woman, was one of 767 visitors entering the scenic area.
I have visited Jiuzhaigou many times since more than 20 years ago. But it was the first time that I had seen snow," she said.
A heavy snow blanketed Jiuzhaigou last Wednesday, turning the valley into a wonderland.
Located in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang autonomous prefecture in Sichuan, Jiuzhaigou means "nine-village valley".
Visitors were drawn by its 108 alpine lakes and by the Tibetan and Qiang culture before the earthquake on Aug 8.
Twenty-five people died in the earthquake, and 493 were injured. Some of Jiuzhaigou's scenic wonders were also damaged.
