【講解】

1）play the devil's advocate指爲了幫助同事或朋友對某個問題考慮得更周到，堵塞漏洞而故意提出不同意見，集思廣益。advocate n. 擁護者；提倡者；律師；辯護者。

2）devil's advocate並不是爲魔鬼效勞的人，而是吹毛求疵的人。 這個習慣用語來自羅馬天主教教會（具體自查）。
