任何一個有市場前景的創新商業模式，一經出現會很快引起競爭對手的注意（attract theattention of competitors），也會招來衆多的效仿者，將競爭推向白熱化（Competition isgetting hotter/ heating up）。

創新型企業（innovative enterprises）在保證自身商業模式成功運行的同時，還要努力捍衛市場地位（champion its market position）。Champion作動詞時，表示“維護、支持、擁護”，同近義詞有“defend，encourage，second，support”。
