Agent

n. 代理人；代理商
Agent = ag-（做，行動，來自拉丁語agere）+ -ent（名詞詞尾），行動的人，引申詞義爲“代理人、代理商”，在商務英語中，agent英文解釋爲 a representative who acts on behalf of other persons or organizations（代表其他人或組織行事的代表），即“中介；代理商”。
常見的agent代理人有sales agent銷售代理商、sole agent獨家經營商、travel agent旅行社、general agent總代理人、estate agent房地產經紀人、business agent業務代表、insurance agent保險代理人。
代理商（Agency）又稱商務代理（Business Agency），是在其行業管理範圍內接受他人委託，爲他人促成或締結交易的一般代理人。委託人一般會支付相應佣金（commission）給代理人作爲報酬。
