首先，今年的六級考試作文和四級有着很大的不同，四級考的是新聞報道，有很多同學一上來是濛濛的，不知道新聞報道該如何入手，而六級則屬於話題作文，主要圍繞大學生學習，生活，就業三個方面來展開考查的，沒有出現難詞偏詞，難度並不大，考生駕馭起來相對容易些。
其次，從考察內容上來講，題目日益貼近大學生的實際生活，重在考察學生的實際寫作水平，一些“假大空”的所謂模板句則越來越沒有用武之地，因此，考生要切實提高寫作水平，對於描寫、記敘、說明、議論、舉例等寫作手法都要掌握。例如，本次考試當中就涉及到關於“目的與方法”，“理解與尊重”，“合作與溝通”相關重要性的論證。鑑於上述原因，平時加強英文寫作訓練就顯得尤爲重要。
