美國“Karen”梗火了……網上人人喊打，這究竟是個什麼人設？
最近，Karen這個名字在美國變得似乎特別招人恨。
社交媒體上，不斷能看到人們對Karen的嘲諷吐槽，彷彿Karen是過街老鼠一般：
今天也就才屏蔽了26個Karen吧，我得加把勁了。
Karen啥也不是，不信你去我上班的酒吧問問看，人人都這麼說。
Karen們，老實在家呆着吧。
我再也受不了這些Karen了。希望老天讓我遇上一個，我不知道別人是怎麼能忍住不發火的，我可不行。
所以，Karen到底是誰？怎麼幾乎到了人人喊打的地步？

其中最著名的，就是那位紐約中央公園Karen了。一名黑人男子要求她拴住她的狗後，她出言不遜地報了警，還向警察捏造了罪名。

堪薩斯州立大學的Heather Suzanne Woods教授認爲:
“A Karen demands the world exist according to her standards with little regard for others, and she is willing to risk or demean others to achieve her ends.”
“Karen們要求世界按照她們的標準存在，很少考慮別人，她們願意冒着風險或貶低別人來達到自己的目的。”
雜誌編輯Rachel Charlene Lewis認同該解讀：
“A Karen sees no one as an individual, instead moving through the world prepared to fight faceless conglomerate of lesser-than people who won’t give her what she wants and feels she deserves.”

實際上，名字梗的玩兒法歷史悠久。
喬治亞理工大學的AndréBrock教授指出，在美國黑奴制度廢除之前，Miss Ann曾被用來指代那些想要對黑人施加權力的白人婦女。
在現代社會，隨着視頻行業發展，名字梗開始風靡，比如Permit Patty和BBQ Becky。

2017年，一名Reddit用戶在該平臺宣泄了對前妻Karen的不滿並設立標籤，稱她在離婚過程中帶走了他的孩子和房子。之後，這個標籤吸引了超過60萬粉絲，大家都在這裏分享自己與中年白人婦女不愉快的經歷。

新冠病毒Karen
疫情期間，Coronavirus Karen被用來指代不配合戴口罩，社交距離等政策的中年婦女。她們熱衷於刁難工作人員，更是隨時隨地要求“speak to the manager”（和經理談談）。
