1. 這段對話發生在顧客剛剛進餐館時。Reservation見是“預定、預約”的意思，在好一點的餐館裏吃飯一般都需要提前預約，而當你進入一家餐館時，侍者首先就會問你是否有預約，Do you have a reservation?
2. 以誰的名字預定座位或是酒店房間一般用介詞under，比如，I have made a reservation for a double room in the Hilton Hotel under Mr. Peterson. 我用彼得森的名字在希爾頓飯店訂了一個雙人間。
3. 國外的餐館裏不一定允許吸菸，即使允許，一般也分爲吸菸區和非吸菸區，即smoking area和non-smoking area，所以對話中的non-smoking seating就是非吸菸區的座位。
4. 當別人對你表示感謝時，你可以說"You're welcome."意思是“不用謝；沒什麼”。
