1. promise n. 許諾，允諾；希望
vt. 允諾，許諾；給人以……的指望或希望
vi. 許諾；有指望，有前途

Good people keep promises and are honest. 善良的人講信用，守承諾，是誠實的。

Who can promise what? 誰能夠保證什麼？

As a youth he showed no promise of becoming a great pianist. 少年時，他未顯示將來可成爲一個偉大的鋼琴家。

2. faith n. 信仰；信念；信任；忠實

keep faith with 對……守信用；忠於信仰

It's not caused by us(that we caused it), but your company broke your faith with us. 原因並不在於我方，而是貴公司不講信用。

But courage and religious faith alone are not enough to win battles. 但是單憑勇氣和宗教信仰要打勝仗還是不夠的。
