Introduire
“Introduire quelqu'un” is to show someone into a room, etc. ( faire entrer, conduire quelqu'un dans un lieu）, not to introduce someone, which is “présenter”.
“Introduire quelqu'un”是“帶領某人進入房間（圈子，領域）”，而不是“介紹某人”（即告知某人的姓名，身份等，這要用 présenter）。總要先讓人家進來，再說他是誰吧？
例如：
Introduire un visiteur au salon (to show a visitor into the living room)， 領來訪者進客廳。
La secrétaire m' introduisit auprès du directeur/dans le bureau du directeur.
The secretary showed me into the manager's office.
祕書把我帶進了經理的辦公室。（帶我去見經理）
Une souris s'est introduite dans la maison par le trou.
A mouse got into the house through the hole.

It was his father who gave me an introduction to/an entrée into high society.

He managed to find a way into/get himself accepted in the closed world of the diamond merchants.

以上句子的共同特點是：introduire 的對象是人（或動物，e.g.老鼠），他們被領入房間或某圈子，某領域。
當 introduire 的對象不是人，而是外來的物種，技術，etc.，或某種抽象的事物（外來的時尚，思想，理論等）時，可以譯爲“引進，傳入”（faire connaître）。這種用法常爲被動句。英語的 introduce 也有同樣的用法。在這個意義上，兩個詞是“真朋友”，可以互譯。

Les bommes de terre furent introduites en Europe dès 1550.
Potatoes were introduced into Europe as early as 1550.
馬鈴薯在1550年就被引進了歐洲。

注意：法語的 introduire 可以用於具體的工具，器械等：

而英語的 introduce 就幾乎不用於具體的器物（To introduce ne s'emploie que rarement en anglais avec des objets concrets.）當然啦，學醫的會遇到以下句子:
The doctor introduced a catheter into the patient’s nose.
醫生在病人的鼻子裏放了一根導管。(太專業了吧？不用記啦！^v^)
英語的 introduce 主要還是“介紹”的意思， 相當於法語的 présenter，即：通過（某人）介紹與某人相識（faire rencontrer）。例如：
Allow me to introduce Mr. Adams (to you) (to introduce myself).
Permettez-moi de vous présenter M. Adams (de me présenter).
請允許我向您介紹亞當斯先生。（我自己）
I was the one who introduced them (to each other).
C'est moi qui les ai présentés l'un à l'autre/C’est grâce à moi qu’ils se connaissent.
是我介紹他們相識的。
除了介紹人，introduce 也可以“介紹”事物（faire découvrir），有時也可譯爲 introduire：
I was first introduced to classical music at the age of five.
J'ai eu mon premier contact avec la musique classique à l'âge de cinq ans.
