《美食祈禱和戀愛》Chapter 61 (136):告別理查
Richard from Texas left today. Flew back to austin. I took the drive with him to the airport, and we were both sad. We stood for a long time on the sidewalk before he went inside.
德州理查今天離開。飛回奧斯汀。我跟他搭車去機場，我們倆都很難過。他進去之前，我們在人行道上站了好一陣子。"What am I gonna do when I don't have Liz Gilbert to kick around anymore?" He sighed. Then he said, "You've had a good experience at the Ashram, haven't you? You look all different from a few months back, like maybe you chucked out some of that sorrow you been hauling around."
“我再也無法欺負小莉·吉爾伯特了，我該如何是好？”他嘆息道。而後他說，“你在道場有很好的體驗，是吧？和幾個月前相比，你完全變了個人，就像把拖着走的哀傷趕跑了。”"I'm feeling really happy these days, Richard."

"Well, just remember—all your misery will be waiting for you at the door upon your exit, should you care to pick it up again when you leave."
“好咧，別忘了——在你要踏出門的時候，所有的苦難都會在門口等着你。離開的時候，可別再去挑起這些東西。”"I won't pick it up again."
“我不會的。”"Good girl."
“好姑娘。”"You've helped me a lot," I told him. "I think of you as an angel with hairy hands and cruddy toenails."
“你幫我許多忙，”我告訴他，“我把你想成一位雙手毛茸茸、腳趾發皺的天使。”"Yeah, my toenails never really did recover from Vietnam, poor things."
“是啊，我的腳趾從越戰後不曾痊癒，可憐的腳趾。”"It could've been worse."
“算是不幸中的大幸。”
