【口語講解】pull one's leg
“pull one's leg”，不是“拖人後腿”，居然是“和人開玩笑”的意思，好像風馬牛不相及。查了一下，原來老外自己都不是很確定其來源。說可能是來源於開玩笑地絆倒別人——但是和拉人腿沒什麼關係；要說拉人腿的話，倒是以前人家絞刑示衆的時候，被行刑者的朋友會去拉他腿，讓他很快窒息減少痛苦——但這顯然和開玩笑就是一點關係沒有了。所以也就不去追究來源了，只要記住pull one's leg=和某人開玩笑就是了。
