講這句話的時候多半是表示出自己對對方的話不太相信，同時也表現出自己的驚訝。同樣也可以說"You must be kidding"。另外，當別人似乎是在開玩笑時，美國人也喜歡說"Really?"
He likes to pull gags on me.
他喜歡跟我開玩笑。
開我玩笑有很多講法，例如"play jokes on me"或是"pull gags on me"都是。它們指的多半是基於好玩而開的玩笑，而非取笑。
Are you making fun of me?
你在嘲笑我嗎？
"make fun of someone"是有點取笑或是嘲笑別人的意思，和無傷大雅的"play jokes"是不太一樣的。

真是太好笑了。
如果別人開了什麼好玩的玩笑，不妨鼓勵人家一下，可以簡單地說"It's so funny."（真是太有趣了！），或是更好笑一點"It's hilarious"。

把我給笑壞了。
如果真的是太好笑了，不妨說得更誇張一點"It cracks me up." （把我給笑壞了）。

你真是太壞了！
當然並非每一個笑話都會讓人覺得好笑，有些取笑別人的笑話只會讓人覺得很惡毒，聽起來很不舒服，這時就可以說"You are so mean"。同樣也可以說"That's a nasty joke." （真是一個卑鄙的笑話）。
